Edmund Hillary, first atop Everest, diesKATHMANDU, Jan 11 - Sir Edmund Hillary, who made his historic climb to the top of the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest with Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay of Nepal,died Friday, reports the associated press. He was 88.
Hillary died at Auckland Hospital about 9 a.m. Friday from a heart attack, said a statement from the Auckland District Health Board.
